Leroy is a forty three year old former sailmaker turned professional sailor. He is a perfectionist when it comes to his sail bags and they are the best you will ever own. Every time he is on a boat he refines his sailcloth duffel bag and that means they have been refined every week for the past seventeen years.
The first Leroy Bag was built seventeen years ago when Leroy was the Captain of a Nautical 57 dive boat in the Carribean for two years. He could not find a sail bag that was tough enough to withstand being in the marine environment everyday, so he got on his own machine one day and made a duffel bag out of an old sail. When he finally got a design he liked, then he got some new sail cloth left over from the sails and made sail bags for the whole crew, and the rest, as they say is history. Leroy's sail bags have been in demand ever since.
He guarantees each of his sail bags, and recently he even retrofitted a sailcloth bag he built a buddy over ten years ago with some new innovations his sail bags now have. This ten year old bag was still going strong. I am Leroy's wife and I have a sail bag that he made me twelve years ago that has sailed to and from Mexico three times and to and to and from Jamaica. It has flown on countless airplanes and gone on even more deliveries, offshore races, weekend races and cruises. I am really hard on my sail bag, and I stuff it as full as I can get it and it is still going strong.
Another great thing about the sailcloth bag is that when you take the sail bag on a plane no one else will mistake your bag for theirs because they are one of a kind, and it is as light as feather, too.
